Join HEY!-Healthy Excited Youth in supporting our students as they transition to online learning this Fall.
The Tech Takeover will be a one-time gift of a laptop to students in need.
According to the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), 17% of children ages 3-18 live in households without a laptop or desktop computer. This translates to at least 11 million students that do not have a computer for online learning, not factoring in households that may only have one device to share. Consider a parent working at home, with 2 children (the approximate average American household size). With only one computer for multiple individuals to share in the midst of at-home shelters and quarantines, this is a major deterrence to quality learning at very crucial ages.
For students that demonstrate a technology shortage and financial assistance need.
Applicants must be currently enrolled full time in school grades 6-12
Students must show a financial need
